Ladurée Sydney is open!!

All those months waiting and it is finally a reality!!

I was one of the first 10 people in the store.  So exciting!!

They even have amazing teas!  I have my eye on the Soleil Roi and the Josephine.

It was the most amazing feeling walking through the streets of Sydney with a fresh Ladurée bag.

There are 18 different flavour of macarons on offer.  Even the liquorice is delicious!

There is also a beautiful 150th Anniversary Special Edition Box.

Finally the true magic of French macarons has made it to Australia!

French Film Inspiration - Breakfast

I am a huge fan of French films.  Particularly comedies.

On the weekend, I watched two films, The Women on the 6th Floor and Potiche (ahh, Catherine Deneuve).  As usual they were both just perfect.

I had a lazy day yesterday and as I was hunting around for breakfast I was inspired by The Women on the 6th Floor.  The movie follows a man living a humdrum life with his society wife in 1960's Paris.  Their maid quits and they hire a new maid straight from Spain.  She turns the man's life upside-down.

One of the first things he says to the new maid is that he likes his boiled eggs for breakfast done just right and that if they are done right, his day will be good.

So I decided to make some boiled eggs for breakfast!  I didn't have any egg cups so I improvised.  There is something fun and child-like about boiled eggs in their shells.
